There are many reasons for the surface ripple of steel strip, one of which is caused by the vibration of grinder steel pipe grinding wheel system during processing. During processing, the grinding wheel produces certain vibration relative to the steel strip, including forced vibration and self-excited vibration, resulting in straight waveform ripple on the surface of the steel strip. This kind of ripple is relatively deep and the wave distance is relatively wide.


During the processing of the steel strip, first coat a layer of red oil film on the surface of the steel strip, and then adjust the moving speed of the workbench so that the moving distance of the workbench is slightly equal to two-thirds of the rotating width of the grinding wheel when the workpiece rotates. Move the grinding wheel rack so that the grinding wheel just touches the red oil film, and the longitudinal cutter quickly exits at one time. At this time, we can find that there is a "polygonal" trace on the surface of the steel strip, Then, by measuring the side width of these polygons, the wave distance can be measured and the wave frequency can be calculated.


When machining the surface of 316L stainless steel belt, because the steel belt will produce elastic deformation with the machine tool during grinding, the intensity of self-excited vibration will increase, resulting in straight ripples on the surface of the steel belt. Generally, the ripples are shallow and the density is large. The frequency of ripples is usually about 300 times per second. However, with the increase of the stiffness of the machine tool, the friction between the grinding wheel and the steel belt will also increase, resulting in the increase of the amplitude of self-excited vibration, Make the depth of the ripple deepen.
