Four common defects of 304 stainless steel plate

The pitting corrosion of 304 stainless steel plate is also called pit corrosion and small hole corrosion. The pitting corrosion of 304 stainless steel plate occurs in a specific corrosion medium. It usually occurs in solutions containing halogen anions, in which chloride and bromide have strong corrosion performance. They are one of the common corrosion media of stainless steel. Pitting corrosion usually occurs on the passive film on the surface of 304 stainless steel plate, and the corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel plate mainly depends on the protective passive film. Although the scope of pitting corrosion is small, as long as it occurs, the corrosion rate will be very fast, and even lead to equipment perforation in serious cases. In addition, in most cases, pitting corrosion has the potential harm of forming intergranular corrosion and stress corrosion.
The first is the weld defect, which is serious. It is mainly compensated by manual and mechanical grinding, but it is easy to form grinding marks on the surface of the board, resulting in uneven surface of the board and affecting the appearance.
The second defect is that the surface of the plate is inconsistent, that is, if only the weld area is pickled and passivated, it will also cause uneven surface of the plate and affect the beauty of the finished product.
The third is that the surface scratches of 304 stainless steel plate are difficult to remove. Seriously, even after overall pickling and passivation, all kinds of scratches formed in the processing process can not be removed, resulting in corrosion and rust in the environment with corrosive medium.
The fourth is that the passivation effect of grinding and polishing is uneven. Generally, pickling passivation treatment is carried out after manual grinding and polishing. If it is a workpiece with a large area, it is difficult to form a uniform and consistent treatment effect, and the ideal uniform surface cannot be obtained. In addition, the labor hours and auxiliary material costs of processing are relatively high.
